TRYOUTS • 2026 SEASON

What to Expect During Tryouts Week

Tryouts are built around effort, competitiveness, and readiness. We evaluate how players prepare, respond, communicate, and compete — not just skills.

Tryout Dates

  • Week of February 23rd
  • Multi-day evaluation: skills, competitiveness, and game-speed reps
  • Results announced: Friday, February 27th

Be Mentally & Physically Ready

  • Have your mind & body ready
  • 100% effort every rep — energy matters
  • Arms ready for volume — no ramp-up during tryouts
  • Be ready for anything: defense, baserunning, competition

Team Structure & Selections

  • There will be two teams:
  • Varsity
  • Junior Varsity
  • 32 players will make the GW 2026 roster
  • Players are evaluated on commitment, competitiveness, and growth potential

Eligibility & Clearance Requirements

All players must be fully cleared through GW Athletics before they can participate in any official practices or tryouts. Clearance is handled by the GW Athletic Office through the Arbiter platform.

What Every Athlete Must Have

IMPORTANT Effective July 2025: CHSAA only accepts the official CHSAA Physical Exam form. Download the current form from the GW Athletics / Arbiter page below.
