A voluntary, high-standard preseason program for GW players who want to show up to tryouts prepared and competitive. We sharpen hitting and throwing, ramp arms safely, and reinforce the culture we expect in the spring.

Spots are limited — players must complete registration and payment before they can participate. No exceptions.

Dates

January 13th – February 21st 2026
6-week ramp leading into CHSAA tryouts.

Weekly Schedule

Tuesdays & Thursdays — 6 PM – 8:15 PM
Saturdays — 10 AM – 12:00 PM
Catching (catchers only) — Saturdays 9 AM – 10:00 AM

Start/end times may shift slightly based on facility schedule and group needs. Any changes will be communicated in advance.

Program Investment

$300 for the full preseason block

~18 practices across January & February
2+ hours per session (be prepared to go longer as we progress)
Catching work included for catchers

Payment Standards

Last year we spent too much time chasing down payments. This year, we are simplifying:

Players must be registered and paid before they start.
If you need a payment plan, contact Coach Todd directly in advance.
No walk-ins and no “I’ll pay later.” Clear and clean from day one.

ON-FIELD WORK

What We Work On

Hitting foundations, swing decisions, and live / competitive reps.
Throwing mechanics, arm-care, and safe ramp-up progressions.
Position-specific work and team defense concepts.
Game-speed drills that build confidence going into tryouts.
Competitive environments that reward effort, focus, and execution.

STANDARDS & EXPECTATIONS

How We Operate

This preseason block is voluntary and not an official GW High School activity. Participation does not guarantee a roster spot. Tryouts and team selection are based solely on spring performance.

Show up on time, ready to work.
No food, gum, or seeds in the facility.
Phones away unless a coach specifically asks you to use them.
Maintain a positive attitude and respect teammates and coaches.
Disruptive behavior or lack of effort = you go home.
Failure to communicate absences may result in removal from the program.

If you are in another GW sport, you may not miss that sport’s games or practices for baseball. Your in-season commitment comes first.

WHAT TO BRING

Be Prepared

Bat, glove, catching gear (if applicable).
Clean turf/indoor shoes and appropriate training gear.
Personal water bottle — facility has water, but no cups.
Layers for potential outdoor Saturdays when weather allows.
Notebook / phone (for notes only) if you like tracking drills and cues.

We will always do our best to give you notice, but you should assume Saturdays could move outside if the weather cooperates.

Culture Over Convenience

Our preseason program exists to help GW players show up to tryouts prepared, confident, and aligned with our standards. It’s voluntary on both sides — you are not obligated to train with us, and we are not obligated to work with you.

If you’re in, be all in. Bring effort, discipline, and communication every time you step through the door.
