GW Baseball
Home of the Patriots
Discipline • Accountability • Represent • Determination • Legacy
A year-round development standard for Patriot Baseball.
OVERVIEW
The New Era of GW Patriots Baseball
GW Baseball is building a year-round standard that goes beyond a spring schedule. We care about development, discipline, and doing things the right way — on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom.
Who This Site Is For
Current GW players and families, incoming freshmen, and 8th graders who want to understand what it means to be part of this program.
What You’ll Find Here
Our culture standards, year-round pathway (Fall, Winter, Pre-Season, Summer), tryout information, coaches, and how to get connected.
What We Expect
Discipline, accountability, and a commitment to represent GW the right way. We’re not for everyone — but if you’re serious about getting better, you’re in the right place.
CULTURE
How We Do Things at GW Baseball
We aren’t trying to look like every other program. We’re building a standard around details, discipline, and doing the work every day — in the classroom, the weight room, and between the lines.
Legacy
Leave it on the field. Empty the tank, do the hard things, and raise the standard for the guys behind you.
Accountability
Selflessness. Team first — your effort, your attitude, your job. We don’t point fingers. We own it.
Discipline
Clear eyes. Control what you can control. Body language, tempo, preparation, and the next pitch — that’s the standard.
Determination
NO FEAR. Compete pitch to pitch. Play with no fear. Give us your best — we’ve got your back no matter what.
Represent
GW Dub. Wear GW with pride — how we practice, how we talk, how we treat people, and how we carry ourselves.
These aren’t just words — they’re the standard. If LADDR resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
YEAR-ROUND PATHWAY
How the GW Baseball Calendar Works
GW Baseball isn’t just a spring sport. Our players have a clear, year-round path to train, lift, and compete. Families can plug in where it makes sense, but the standard stays the same across every phase.
FALL
Fall Development & Games
Focus on reps, roles, and game-speed learning. Fall is where new players get their first real taste of our expectations and returning players sharpen their tools.
- Practice + game blend (weather dependent)
- Skill work with an emphasis on fundamentals
- Great on-ramp for freshmen and new families
WINTER
Winter Training Block
Small-group hitting, throwing, and strength work. Winter is where we make the biggest jumps in movement quality, strength, and confidence.
- Indoor pods for hitting and throwing
- Structured strength program (in or out of school)
- Attendance and effort tracked over time
PRE-SEASON
Pre-Season Ramp-Up
Leading into CHSAA tryouts, we tighten roles, ramp arms safely, and dial in team systems so players are ready to compete from day one.
Preseason registration is now closed as we enter Week 3 to keep groups organized and training consistent. If you missed it, your next step is to prepare for CHSAA tryouts and make sure eligibility requirements are complete. All preseason updates for registered players will continue through TeamSnap.
- Position work, team defense, and live reps
- Arm-care and throwing progressions
- Clear expectations heading into tryouts
SUMMER
Summer Baseball
For players who want to stay aligned with our standards June–July. Summer is where committed players keep developing, competing, and training with purpose.
- 16u–18u summer teams and tournaments
- Integrated training and strength work
- Aligned with what we expect in the spring
