Summer & Fall — Player Interest

Cobalt Summer Baseball 2026

Serious development for players who want more than just games.

Summer and fall baseball for athletes who want to train, compete, and prepare the right way.

Open to motivated high school players from any program.
Program Overview

What Is Cobalt Summer Baseball?

Cobalt Summer Baseball is a development-first summer and fall program built for players who actually want to get better — not just collect games.

We train and compete under the Cobalt Baseball umbrella, with a clear focus:

  • Skill development — hitting, defense, arm care, decision-making
  • Strength & movement training that complements baseball
  • Smart game reps — tournaments, league play, and intrasquads that have a purpose
  • College-ready habits — communication, accountability, preparation, and standards

This is not rec baseball. This is for athletes who want to:

  • Play college baseball, or
  • Become the best high school version of themselves

You don’t have to want to play in college to be here — but you do have to be willing to work at that level.

Fit Check

Who This Program Is For

If a player recognizes themselves in these bullets, they’re in the right place.

  • Current or incoming high school players (and select advanced 8th graders)
  • Players who want more than just a summer schedule
  • Athletes who care about strength, speed, arm health, and skill work
  • Players who want to be coachable, accountable, and team-first
  • GW players looking to stay aligned with our in-season standards
  • Non-GW players looking for a serious development environment
Note for 2026: This is our first year officially combining GW interest with Cobalt Summer Baseball. Everything — number of teams, exact levels, schedule — will be built based on who actually participates on the interest form.

Pathway

How Cobalt Connects to GW Patriots Baseball

In the spring, players compete for their high school. In the summer and fall, our development system runs through Cobalt Baseball.

For GW players:

  • Cobalt Summer is the clear off-season pathway that matches what we expect in the spring.
  • The standards, language, and culture are aligned with GW Patriots Baseball.
  • You do not have to want to play college baseball to play at GW — but we’re going to hold the standard high so every player has the option.

For non-GW players:

  • Cobalt is a neutral, development-first environment.
  • You keep your own high school identity, but train under our Cobalt standards.
  • We respect your school, your coaches, and your schedule.

Standards

Expectations & Standards

This program only works if players, parents, and coaches are aligned. Here’s what we expect.

Players

  • Show up — to games, training, and meetings
  • Communicate early about conflicts
  • Compete hard and practice harder
  • Be coachable, respectful, and team-first
  • Take care of your body and arm between sessions

Parents

  • Support your athlete by supporting the standards
  • Let coaches coach; no drama, no politics
  • Communicate questions directly with the staff
  • Understand playing time is earned, not guaranteed

Coaches

  • We will teach, not just organize
  • We will be honest about where an athlete stands
  • We will push players, but not demean them
  • We will align what we say with what we do
Next Step

We typically ask for:

  • Player name, grad year, high school, primary/secondary positions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this only for GW players?
No. Cobalt Summer Baseball is open to motivated athletes from any program. GW players will see a lot of alignment with what we do in the spring, but this is not limited to GW.
Do I have to want to play college baseball to join?
No. But we are going to train and hold standards like you might want that option someday. If you want to coast, this probably isn’t the right fit.
When will we know final teams, schedule, and pricing?
After we review the interest forms and see how many players, grad years, and positions we have, we’ll send details to all families who filled out the form.
Can my player do just games and skip training?
Our priority is development. We will always give priority to athletes who are committed to both training and competing.
